Hope & Wellness Center Telehealth, In Person, & Walk & Talk Sessions
As the news and information surrounding COVID-19 continues to evolve, the main priorities and mission of Hope and Wellness Center continue to remain the same — to walk alongside our clients in their journey to healing, wholeness, and overall wellness.
What a different and challenging year we’ve all experienced; wildfires, global pandemic, protests, riots, hurricanes, floods, racial injustice, grief, loss, economic devastation, exhaustion, and heartbreak. We’ve experienced changes on how we connect and communicate with each other as more and more things are online and virtual than ever before…school, work, meetings, family gatherings, shopping, weddings, funerals, doctor visits, and therapy appointments. In addition, we’ve been rocked by the events in our community, nation, and the world. None of this has been easy and all of it has been life changing.
If no one has told you lately… you are doing a great job navigating a very challenging and unique year!! I’m glad you’re here. Keep showing up. Keep being seen. Keep being brave. 🙂
In March, due to COVID-19, HWC transitioned to 100% telehealth for therapy sessions. In addition to the change in our EHR and billing (link to this info), HWC is making changes and accommodations as we prepare to resume in office (in person) visits. HWC is committed to keeping your, your family, and our HWC Team safe and healthy. The decision to resume in person visits is one HWC takes very seriously. There are many factors to be considered; the health, wellness, and safety of our clients, local and national government recommendations, guidelines from professional organizations (American Counseling Association, etc), and insurance benefits/coverage. The decision to return to in-person session is one between you (the client) and your therapist (and insurance) and will be handled on a case by case basis. You are not obligated to return to in-person sessions. But, when the time comes to return, there are some important things for you to know.
Depending on your and/or your family’s individual needs, you will be provided options for: secure HIPAA compliant online/video-based sessions, secure text messaging, and secure phone calls. Below you will find a graphic with some tips for successful online therapy/telehealth. If you are not familiar with the concept of telehealth there is a link to the Mayo Clinic’s detailed description of telehealth: https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/consumer-health/in-depth/telehealth/art-20044878.

Mobile & Touchless Check-In
HWC is implementing a touchless/mobile self check- in procedure to help limit exposure to our clients and staff. This will be done through an app called, My Mobile Check In. You may find this app in your phone’s app store or access it via the QR Code found below along with instructions.
