Jen Korner, M.S., LIMHP, NCC, RPT
Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner
I care about you already and I haven’t even met you. That’s just how I am. I was put on this Earth to help people. I was put here to listen to your struggles with understanding but no judgement. It’s my superpower. Maybe I was meant to help you?
I know asking for help and seeking counseling can be scary and I am here to help you through that so we can talk about why you are really here. Meeting new people can be hard. And the counselor/client relationship is definitely unique. I will help guide you every step of the way.
I have experience working with drug/alcohol issues, depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, co-dependency, major mental health, trauma, grief, and autism.
I am an independent licensed mental health practitioner (LIMHP) in Nebraska. I am a national certified counselor (NCC), which requires me to hold a high standard of ethics in my field. I am also a registered play therapist (RPT), which through my studies and experience has taught me about child development, attachment, and play techniques to teach people how to mange themselves more effectively. Play therapy sounds like it’s only for kids, but I’ve found it’s very helpful (and FUN!) for people of all ages. Play therapy has taught me how to have joy in my own life everyday.
My counseling style is non-judgmental, affirming, and warm. I am a good listener and I am a problem-solver by nature. I will also tell you I am the least judgmental person you will ever meet. I have heard lots of different stories from all different kinds of people and I am not going to judge you or anyone else. I just want to help you, truly. I genuinely care about people because we were all put on this Earth together, so we should be able to help each other be successful. Ram Dass said, “We are all just walking each other home.” I believe we need to take care of one another in this world.
I can’t wait to get started in helping you find joy and balance in your life. Everyone struggles from time to time and I am so happy you have come here for help. You are so brave.
