Anxiety & Depression
Do you feel “off”, in a funk, easily irritated, or crying more often? Are you not happy with the things that normally make you happy? Are you having difficulty staying focused? You are not alone. Approximately 1 in 10 adults experience depression and 1 in 5 experience anxiety during their lifetime. Depression is more than feeling sad. Anger, despair, loneliness, hopelessness, and thoughts such as “I can’t do this anymore” can creep in. Many times depression and anxiety are experienced at the same time and can have some of the same symptoms.
Other things you may be experiencing with anxiety are excessive worry, difficulty in social situations, trouble concentrating, intrusive thoughts, feelings of dread, and thinking the worst will happen. Everyone experiences these things from time to time. But, what if it doesn’t go away? What if every day begins to feel so overwhelming and heavy? What if anxiety turns into a panic attack or a phobia? Then it’s time to reach out for help. You don’t have to face it alone. The team at HWC understands the nature of depression and anxiety. We will walk alongside you to bring solutions, hope, and healing.

“Mental pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and also more hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden: it is easier to say ‘my tooth is aching’ than to say ‘my heart is broken.'”-C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain
